Greytown Sport and Leisure Society

An important community website, the Greytown Sport and Leisure Society (GSLS) website combined news and current issues with a welcome hub for the many clubs and societies in the area.

GSLS was another Greytown charity that had evolved out of necessity. The town needed a focal point for the plethora of sport and leisure organisations that had grown up over the years. Each society previously maintained and submitted their own annual reporting, organised their own accounting and so on. GSLS was formed to provide a centralised facility that delivered these services for the benefit of ALL clubs and organisations.

The website supported this vital community function. We worked with the clubs to create mini-websites, one per club, to reduce their dependence upon Facebook and its idiosyncrasies. We built an enhanced search facility so that visitors could easily find their required club, either by searching on the name, or by recognising the club emblem. A carousel (slide-show) on the home page proudly advertised all the club badges.

Another useful feature was the document library which provided a single source for the many regulatory documents and also delivered some useful advice on applying for grants.
