Aroma India
This restaurant site was another example of how an organisation’s website can become a critical part of the business.
The site provided a beautiful interactive display of the menu, with images of the various dishes available. We built a full eCommerce capability so that customers could order items and arrange delivery. Customers could create an account and save their “favourite dishes” to speed up further orders.
For customers who preferred a hardcopy of the menu, we added a download facility. We monitored the number of downloads which provided a useful indication of the level of interest.
As well as “click and collect”, the site also offered home delivery for orders above a certain value. Delivery could be arranged for a particular time and this helped the restaurant owner “batch-up” deliveries for the same area. Delivery costs were calculated by postcode, and for a while we also trialled a map-based approach using “zones”. If your address fell within a particular zone, that set the cost of delivery.
The client was very pleased with how much easier the website made his operation. As the business expanded, he opened additional restaurants and we provided further versions of the website. This provided the opportunity to explore having multiple “views” of the same website, with each view offering it’s own menu and delivery arrangements.
