Greytown Trails Trust

The Trust now runs 2 trails – the original Rail Trail and the newer Tauwharenikau Trail including the bridge and Underhill Road route from Featherston. We extended the website to cover both trails.

The website includes video clips and photos taken on the trails. An events calendar advertises relevant events in the area.

A recent addition is the “Trail User graphs”. Sensors on the trails now monitor the number of walkers and cyclists using the trail each day. These figures are displayed on the website and give an insight into the popularity of the trails.

One of the primary aims of the website is to collect donations from visitors. Every page includes a “Donate” form which can process donations directly from a credit card. The QR code displayed at intervals along the trail takes visitors straight to the website “Donate” button.

The “Trailblazer” newsletter has been very popular and we have set up access to the most recent edition, plus the “Trailblazer archive” providing access to downloads of previous publications.
