Infratec
In 2021, Infratec announced that they would be migrating away from the Squarespace platform. Since then, we have worked with them on a number of initiatives.
Website Development.
Infratec invited Avalon to bolster the web development team, to ensure alignment with the existing hosting platform and improve security for their new website. Avalon took over the website development, reducing costs and improving “ARM” (Availability, Reliability and Maintainability).
Having built the website and taken it live, we provided fully-managed hosting, featuring automated daily backups, automated software updates, and a Content Delivery Network (CDN) that protects the site and improves response times.
Project Statistics.
Infratec wanted a way to celebrate their achievements, that remained up-to-date without asking individual project managers to directly modify the website. Project managers already maintained their own records so we built an aggregation mechanism that pulled their results together on a shared spreadsheet. We arranged a display that was driven by this “master project list”. As Project Managers updated their figures, the website was kept current.
Project Map.
The Project Map displays the location of projects. The latitude and longitude are stored with the particular project, and the website looks up the info and displays a pin in the appropriate place. Clicking on a pin takes you to the relevant project page.
Training.
We prepared and delivered face-to-face training for Infratec staff, ensuring that local administrators were sufficiently confident and equipped to make the changes they needed, to keep the site up-to-date. We have stayed in-touch and continue to provide immediate second-line support whenever needed.
