The website provides a home for news, research and regulatory information.
The projects database tracks the progress of a multitude of research programmes across the country.
The online library, accessed from a number of pages, houses over 1000 documents. The tools provided enable management of this wealth of information to ensure it remains accessible and up-to-date.
The site has also collected hundreds of recipes to demonstrate the versatility of this humble tuber.
Homepage banners
We developed a novel solution for the carousel of Homepage banners. Rather than directly modifying the homepage each time a new banner was required, we simplified the approach based on a Custom Post Type (CPT) and customised templates. Now the owner simply has to login, select “Add new homepage banner”, and is prompted to add the required content. “Simpler” results in fewer errors and much less time.
Mega-menu
The structure of the Potatoes New Zealand site is complex and deep – necessary to deliver the broad range of content provided by the site. The traditional navigation menu was having difficulty displaying the structure in a way that was meaningful for users. Instead, we built a “mega-menu” to guide users to the required sections.
A mega-menu presents a complex structure in a more easily understood form. The layout is completely flexible and it can include a range of content including images and video.
