K9 Search Medical Detection
The site displays the essential work conducted by the organisation. The team conducted essential research into the capability of dogs to support humans in detecting pollen and viruses.
In addition to some stunning photography of the dogs at work and in training, the site also provided a means to attract donations and subscriptions. Much of K9SMD’s work is unfunded, so donations form basic requirement to ensure business continuity.
Simple donations were set up using credit card or bank transfer payments. For bank transfer, the website emailed the treasurer inviting them to monitor the account and click a button in the email when the funds had arrived. The button in the email caused the website to generate a thank you letter and receipt to the donor. It also marked the donation as received in the internal “List of donations”.
Subscriptions were slightly more complex. We set up an automated integration with “Stripe”, so that a credit card would be debited each year. Donors and organisations could subscribe to a particular level of support, which resulted in corresponding benefits. Examples included: “Meet the team” events, certificates and so on.
